A simple argument between two teenagers almost ended tragically after one was stabbed in the region of his heart on Saturday.
Tevin Browne 16, of 110 ‘B’ Field, Sophia, was stabbed once to the heart while he was playing football.
This newspaper was told that earlier in the day Browne and the suspect had a confrontation over a female relative of the suspect.
This newspaper was told that Browne was talking to the suspect’s sister and that this caused him to become enraged.
Later in the day Browne and a group of friends were playing football when the suspect and another relative turned up.
This newspaper was told that the two persons began beating Browne. Kaieteur News was told that one of the suspects left and returned with knife.
Browne was stabbed once to the region of his heart. He was rushed to the hospital where he immediately underwent emergency surgery.
The teen is now in the High Dependency Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital. Investigations into the incident are continuing.
