After a year of competitive activities, local race walkers would cap off the season when the Cavalier Sports and Tour Club (CSTC) presents the final race for the year, fittingly dubbed ‘Last Lap Race Walk.’
The race would be staged on Sunday December 19 and gets underway at 06:30hrs from the Prairie International Hotel, Coverden EBD and culminates at the Soesdyke Primary School. National race walk champion, Rudolph Mitchell who has long surpassed the one hundred race winning streak will look to continue his dominance despite challenges from other formidable opponents the likes of Jonathon Fagundes and Jeremy Cornelius among others.
On the distaff department Donna Ramkissoon will also want to continue her winning ways, improving her unbeaten 50 race winning streak. She can expect stiff challenges from other top notch race walkers including several juniors.
The athletes would be competing for trophies and medals donated by corporate Guyana. All participants are advised to be at the starting point by 06:00hrs.
