Four juveniles appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry, yesterday, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, to answer to a charge of unlawful wounding.
It is alleged that on Thursday, last, the teens unlawfully and maliciously wounded Travis Price, with the intention to inflict grievous bodily harm.
Since the matter was held in camera, only the teens’ parents or guardians were allowed to remain in the court room.
However, the Magistrate refused bail and ordered the defendants to make their next court appearance on December 21.
On Thursday, last, Price, a minibus conductor, was stabbed, punched, kicked and stoned by a group of young men, after he refused to turn up the “Gaza” music in the vehicle.
The man who resides at ‘B’ Field Sophia, Georgetown, was stabbed to the neck, shoulder and back. He also received injuries to his right side after one of the boys threw a large stone at him.
Kaieteur News understands that the young men, who reportedly attend a school for dropouts, have allegedly named themselves “the not nice gang”.
