The parents of Bibi Neckysh Yusuf 18, who went missing on November 1, are pleading for her safe return.
The family resides at 91 Tuschen New Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara.
It was reported that on November 1, the teen’s mother, Bibi Gafaur, awoke around 01:00 hrs and realised that Bibi was not in her bedroom.
Further checks were made in the community but no one reported seeing her.
Bibi’s parent related to Kaieteur news that a missing person report was made at the Lenora Police station, but officers on duty refute the claim.
Nevertheless her mother stated that a few weeks ago, a young man had visited their home seeking to have a relationship with the young lady. Gafaur explained that she along with her husband did not approve of the relationship.
Her parents tearfully said that Bibi is their only child and the lone reason why they did not approve of the relationship is because they wanted the best for her.
“We tell she that wait until we find out about the boy then we will see what will happen.”
The mother related that prior to the date of Bibi’s disappearance, she went shopping and showed no indication that she wanted to run away.
“She was happy all the time…we never expected her to do something like this.”
The parents are seeking the assistance from the general public to help them locate her.
Persons who have information about her disappearance can contact Bibi Gafaur on telephone numbers 6427233 or 6634555.
Just last week teenage lovers, Avinash Persaud, 18, and Kamattie Wilfred called “Mamo or Sonia”, 17, were found hanging two feet apart from a pink sheet in an abandoned house at Sideline-dam Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara in the wee hours of the morning.
Their suicide is believed to be as a result of Avinash’s parents not approving of the relationship.
