When was Carifesta, dem pick up some people and carry dem to de Night Shelter. Before that, dem use to pick up all dem pavement dwellers and people and drive dem till out of town. One time dem carry dem to Mabura, past Linden, and loose dem fuh walk back. Some people tek five days but a man run and he meet back in town in two days.
This time dem carry de people to de mad house in Berbice. One man tell dem boys that he ent mad and he gun kill somebody if dem don’t let he out.
De people let he out and de man decide to swim back to town. He seh that dem try to mislead he. Dem carry he by road and he decide to swim back. He refuse to cross de Berbice Bridge. He drown.
He family didn’t know nutten till dem read de papers. Dem vex. Dem decide that dem gun carry Jagdeo to de same mad house and see wha gun happen to he. But he smell de rat. He fly out to Mexico yesterday. Dem boys seh that he got to live deh, that he mustn’t come back.
