Determination the regular organization of competitions have earned the Guyana Softball League the right to oversee the affairs of local clubs and that body has recently been ordained as the national body of softball cricket in Guyana by the National Sports Commission. As such, administrators are now poised to regularize the sport in accordance with other disciplines.
Softball cricket has been popular for a number of years; attracting countrywide participation yet the sport has never reached great heights.
The Guyana Softball League has affiliates right across the country including Berbice and Essequibo.
These two regions have recently inaugurated a softball league and are inviting the participation of all organizations. The administrators would like to encourage all clubs wishing to be part of softball cricket family to become affiliated to the body.

The Guyana Softball League came into existence ten years ago and has been steadily achieving its goals by bringing fair and discipline competitions to the nation. It has also earned kudos for its forefront position.
This body operates under the motto ‘Unity and Harmony thru Sports’ and has been an example to many while maintaining integration and development within its ranks.
The next competition under its auspices, the GT&T 10/10, is expected to attract clubs from all of the ten administrative regions and like the Essequibo staged tournament, engenders the participation of a wide cross section of Guyanese, all contributing to the development of the game.
The Softball League is the only organization to organize tournaments of this magnitude which has inspired all round participation and heightened love for the sport.
The ruling organization plans to organize more competitions at the youth level including U-15 and U-17 as well as in the female category.
