… duo to be cremated tomorrow
A post mortem examination conducted yesterday on the remains of Avinash Persaud, 18, and Kamattie Wilfred, 17, ruled out foul play.
The examinations which were done by Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh found that the couple died of asphyxiation due to strangulation.
Kaieteur News understands that the police have handed over the bodies to relatives for burial, and the respective families are planning a cremation for the couple on Wednesday at the Ruimzeight Crematorium.
Two teenage lovers were found hanging two feet apart from a pink sheet in an abandoned house at Lot 55 Sideline-dam Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara in the wee hours of Friday morning.
Avinash Persaud lived at Greenwich Park, East Bank Essequibo, and his girlfriend Kamattie Wilfred called “Mamo or Sonia”, 17, lived at 58 East Meten-Meer-Zorg, and Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara. The abandoned house belonged to Avinash Persaud’s grandparents.
