Dear Editor,
I am avid reader of the Kaieteur News online and I could not help noticing the attack on your columnist Freddie Kissoon.
This is the second time that Kissoon has been the subject of attacks simply because of his fearless writing, which is an inspiration to all of us in the Diaspora.
However, unlike the first time, the Kaieteur News has kept the alleged attack by a prominent businessman on its website, which points to how seriously the newspaper is taking the matter.
This initiative needs to be commended for it could have very well been a dead issue after the first on line report.
Freddie is integral to the Kaieteur News and the administration of the newspaper must be feeling that it ought to highlight the matter in no uncertain terms.
I also note that in addition to the physical attack on Kissoon, there was some mention of the publisher Glenn Lall by the alleged attacker. I could very well imagine if the publisher of the newspaper were to come under attack, what the outcome would be.
Instead of a few days publication on the internet, there may be wholesale coverage for a year or more.
Keep up the good work Kaieteur News. We in the Diaspora need to know the truth of what is happening in our homeland and you are providing us with just that.
