For the third consecutive year, Consulting Engineers and Scientists, Ground Structures Engineering Consultants Inc. have donated the 3rd place trophy for the Annual Kashif & Shanghai football extravaganza which is in its 21st year.
At their 212 D’ Andrade Street, Newton, Georgetown Head Office, Accountant Charmaine Collins handed over the trophy to Co-Director Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major in the presence of fellow employees.
Ms. Collins in brief remarks stated that they were very pleased to be associated with the tournament once again noting that it makes its mark in terms of contributing to the development of the game and youths in Guyana.
“We are very happy to make this contribution once again and we look forward to another exciting and competitive tournament among the selected teams. Our company is committed towards the development of our youths through the medium of sports.”
Major thanked Ms. Collins and the Principal of Ground Structures Engineering Consultants Inc. Charles P. Ceres, PE for their partnership which undoubtedly contributes towards the overall success of the tournament.
The tournament will officially open on Sunday December 12 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence with the March-Past of the Twenty-Teams competing. Two specially arranged games will also take place with the National Under-20 team coming up against an Upper Demerara Under-23 selection.
The feature event of the night will see the Senior Golden Jaguars taking on Atletico of Roraima State in Brazil.
Competition proper, which is played on a knock-out format, will get going on Wednesday December 15 at the GFC Ground with two matches.
