The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club continued its assistance towards the development of cricket in the Ancient County when they donated a Desktop Photocopier, Fax Machine and Phone System.
The donation was done by the club’s Farfan & Mendes Under-15, Bakewell Under-17, Pepsi Under-19, Gizmos & Gadgets Under-23 and First Division and Metro Female Cricket Teams under their Personal Development Programme through which they were mandated by the club to make a positive difference to others.
Newly elected Assistant Secretary of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Nermala Sewdat, who made the presentation on behalf of the teams, stated that the club was totally dedicated towards the development of cricket in Berbice.
She noted that in 2010 alone, the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club used its influence with sponsors to raise close to $5M in cash and kind for the Berbice Cricket Board apart from sponsoring several programmes/projects and co-producing the Board’s Annual Magazine and DVD Coaching DVD.
Ms. Sewdat performing her first role in this new capacity expressed hope that the donation would assist the Berbice Board to fulfill its mandate and assured the Board of the club’s continued assistance in the future.
Secretary of the Berbice Cricket Board Angela Haniff in accepting the donation expressed gratitude to the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club and the cricket teams for their continued investment in the development of the game.
The donation, she stated would assist the work of the Board a great deal especially its public relations department and called on other clubs and NGO’s in Berbice to follow in the footsteps of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club by joining forces with the Board to continue the progress currently taking place.
