Twenty-three-old Berbician Gajanand Singh will lead the Rest team in the Guyana Cricket Board Pepsi/Carib T20 four-team competition which begins on Friday at the Guyana National Stadium.
The left-handed Singh is the only player apart from pacer Colwin Cort (who played for all three counties) and off-spinner Sean Devers (Demerara and Berbice) to represent more than one team at the Senior Inter-County level.
Singh, with 2 fifties from 8 First-Class matches, is now the only player to represent Demerara, Berbice and the Rest team at this level and will have former National T20 player Dion Ferrier as his Vice Captain.
Opener Shemroy Barrington, Anthony Bramble and Vishaul Singh are the other players with First-Class experience in the Rest team which also includes West Indies under-19 opener Trevon Griffith.
All members of the Rest Team are asked to report to the Chetram Singh Center of Excellence at LBI at 16:00hrs on Monday. The Rest team play the opening match of the competition when they battle Essequibo from 15:00hrs on Friday at providence.
