The quote “If music be the food of love, then play on” by William Shakespeare was last night brought to the fore as graduates of the Foundation Seven music school played numerous musical pieces at the school’s graduating ceremony held at Red House.
Sixty students graduated from different levels of the school’s programme including the beginners, intermediate and advanced levels. The graduation was graced by the presence of numerous parents and enthusiastic graduands.
Since the organization offers training for all ages, the students were vastly varied especially in a case where a woman and her two daughters graduated at the same time. Foundation Seven, which operates from premises at Irving and Laluni Streets, Queenstown, was formed in 2008 by three couples– Saheed and Sharon Sullan; Ivan and Marva Williams; and Phillip and Suelle Williams.
It was as a result of this that the school was named since there were six founders who included God in all of their doings.
The school offers training for the expert playing of musical instruments including the piano, guitar, drums, violin and voice training; with teachers who are suitably qualified for such teachings.
Over the years, the school had approximately 400 students passing through and according to the Public Relations Officer “we keep our students interest”.
According to the public relations officer, Foundation Seven is opening a club, which has as one of its objectives, assisting members with homework and research projects, provide internet access and host a mini library. The club also has plans to open a dance school.
“It will be an entire package” said the PRO.
