Dear Editor,
The current PPP/C Government has destroyed educational and economic opportunities of Guyanese especially each emerging generation of Guyanese. Symptomatic of the platform for poor governance is its failure to make childbirth for working class mothers a national health issue. How far backwards is this PPP/C Government taking Guyanese society? It has surpassed any regressive benchmark.
Industries are failing because of Government’s ineptness and corruption. The current PPP/C Government has its hand in illegal activities such as phantom gangs, murder plots, drug-rings and drug-lord connections, torture, sexual misconduct.
All of these have brought further disgrace on this country. International disrespect is furthered heaped upon us by the Government’s attempt to defraud the International Communities of monies. The dictatorial greed is not satisfied by the siphoning of money from the Guyanese treasury to its chosen few.
The PPP/C Government under President Jagdeo, has showed its dictatorial nature in the way in which it attempts to silence critics (such as Mr. Christopher Ram and Mr. Frederick Kissoon) through fear and harassment. For example, President Jagdeo and members of his government are resorting to his (their) usual crude gestures, tantrums of incivility and vulgarity.
The President and his government have brought shame and disrespect upon the office of the President and upon the nation of Guyana.
As we approach the election deadline we can anticipate manufactured and distasteful maneuvers from the PPP in order to keep itself in power.
With such a dismal record, this is a call for the PPP/C Government under President Jagdeo to resign and place it in the hand of a caretaker government for the next election.
All Guyanese and those in the Diaspora should ask this current PPP/C Government to resign.
This is in the best interest of the nation.
