Police Anti-Narcotics Unit (PNU) stationed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) intercepted yet another attempt to smuggle drug out of Guyana.
Reports are that around 14:00 hours, yesterday, the police ranks, acting on suspicion, found a parcel destined for Canada, with three kilograms and 316 grams of cocaine.
Kaieteur News was told that the illegal substance was found in a yellow and blue mail bag, which contained four tins labelled as “cassareep.”
Kaieteur News understands that no one has been detained. The police are continuing their investigations.
