A newborn piglet was the centre of attraction in Mocha, East Bank Demerara, on Friday.
The mother, which weighs some 300 pounds, gave birth to seven piglets, one of which was born with two heads.
The owner, Ms. Shonette Joseph, of Second Street, Mocha was astounded to bear witness to such a birth while checking her swine Friday morning. The piglet has two heads, a pair of eyes, nose, ears and mouth.
Sadly, the owner and other inquisitive onlookers have little faith in the life expectancy of the two-headed piglet.
According to Ms. Joseph, the piglet was born with the top of its head covered by a transparent membrane revealing the “throbbing” of what seems to be the brain.
Kaieteur News understands that the owner of the two headed pig was advised to contact the necessary authorities to prevent what they say could be an unnecessary death.
