The tri-nation Inter-Guiana Games (IGG) will officially open today with a gala ceremony at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with Prime Minister, Samuel Hinds expected to deliver the feature opening address following the arrival of teams yesterday.
The other competing countries, Suriname and French Guiana were expected to arrive in Guyana yesterday evening ahead of the competition that is expected to conclude Sunday. The delegations that are visiting are being housed at Ocean View Hotel.Following the March Past of the delegations and other ceremonial aspects of the opening, Hinds will formally open the 2010 Games. Officials from the Suriname and French Guiana contingents will also speak at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
