As Berbice/Mahaicony Districts action commence
The 2010 Ministry of Education/National Sports Commission/Guyana Cricket Board Secondary Schools 40-over Under-15 Cricket Competition started recently with action in the Berbice-Mahaicony Districts.
Fast bowler Viendra Gooniah took 4-35 which together with 3-18 from medium pacer Jameil Jackman helped Skeldon Line Path Secondary bowl out Tagore Memorial for 138. Gooniah returned to score 50 but with Tagore’s pacer Alvin Jeffrey (4-16) and off-spinner Vadanand Sugrim (3-23) ensured Skeldon Line Path Secondary fell short by 24 runs.
And opening batsman Ruel Williams slammed 51 to steer Manchester Secondary to a 9-wicket win over Black Bush Secondary while spearheading New Amsterdam Secondary to a 95-run victory over Berbice High School was Hakeem Hinds who made 41 and 4-35 and Keirre Henry who scored 48.

At No. 63 Village, Tagore Memorial secondary School beat Skeldon Line Path Secondary School by 24 runs. Tagore Memorial Secondary 138 in 28.4 Overs with Sean Persaud 46, Viendra Gooniah 4 for 35, Jameil Jackman 3 for 18, Esau Williams 2 for 42. Skeldon Line Path Secondary 114 in 23.4 Overs with Viendra Gooniah 50, Alvin Jeffrey 4 for 16, Vadanand Sugrim 3 for 23, Sean Persaud 2 for 22.
At Whim, Manchester Secondary School beat Black Bush Secondary School by 9 wickets. Black Bush Secondary 94 in 18.2 Overs with Winston Corlette 21, Kevon Dean 3 for 16. Manchester Secondary 96 for 1 in 15.2 Over with Ruel Williams 51, Kevon Dean 21 N.O.
At Cumberland, New Amsterdam Secondary beat Berbice High School by 95 runs. New Amsterdam Secondary School 220 in 39.1 Overs with Keirre Henry 48, Hakeem Hinds 41, Randolph Davis 33, Shimron Hetmyer 3 for 31, Gavin Moriah 2 for 33, Xavier Lambert 2 for 47. Berbice High School 125 in 26.2 Overs with Eon Carmichael 27, Gavin Moriah 23, Hakeem Hinds 4 for 35, Richard Henry 2 for 10.
At Port Mourant, J.C. Chandisingh Secondary School beat Corentyne Comprehensive Secondary School by 24 runs. J.C. Chandisingh Secondary 1102 in 39.3 Overs, Youraj Rambarran 4 for 23, David Lachaya 2 for 14, Mokin Khan 2 for 14. Corentyne Comprehensive Secondary 78 in 31.2 Overs with Nicholas Cameron 25, Arif Chan 4 for 9, Brandon Persaud 3 for 11, Karran Singh 2 for 8.
