The 2010 National Full Bore Rifle Shooting Championships of the Guyana NRA concluded yesterday with Fullbore Captain Mahendra Persaud winning the final day’s shoot in the “X” class shooting 129 points with 10V-Bulls and being crowned 2010 National Fullbore Champion. Peter Persaud continued his fine shooting to capture the “O” class Grand aggregate and gain first lien on the Archie White Memorial trophy. Peter shot his first ever 10 round possible 50: 5V’s at 600 yards and continues to improve with each shoot.
In the “X” class division and shooting at 500 Yards Persaud shot a possible 35:4 to place 1st at that range, 48:4 another 1st place and at 600 yards with the wind changing quickly at times, 46:2 for second place to Dane Blair who shot 46:3 at 1000 yards.
Persaud had a grand aggregate total of 344:29. He won in the Process the Valladares Trophy, Leslie Dowridge Memorial Trophy, Lushington Trophy (7 Round aggregate), Wood Davis Trophy (10 Round Aggregate), Denise Carryl (Long Range Aggregate) and the Sigmund Douglas Grand Aggregate Trophy to go with the Queensway Trophy.
Ransford Goodluck who was trailing Commonwealth Games Teammate Persaud by 1 point going into day 3 could not make up ground and had to settle for second place after he shot a total of 127:5 with scores of 34:2, 47:2 and 46:1 respectively. He was third at 600 and 1,000 yards respectively.
Lennox Braithwaite remained in third position after shooting 120:6 – 34:2; 47:4 and 39:0 placing second at the 500 and 600 yards.

Ryan Sampson – 319:14
Claude Duguid – 317: 08
Dane Blair – 313: 20 (Blair had to retire at 600 after his rifle malfunctioned)
In the “O” Class, Peter Persaud continued his winning ways and ended the day with a total of 130: 9 winning all 4 prizes at stake namely the 3 ranges and the day’s aggregate. Peter shot 34:1, 50:5 and 46:3 to win the day and grand aggregate for “O” class shooters, confirming that he is one shooter for the future. He was followed by Lt. Col Terrence Stuart who finished second to Peter at all the ranges and Day’s aggregate having shot 31:2, 44:3 and 36:0.
