Yesterday marked an important day for the owners of Balram and Sons General Store, located at Lot 20 Public Road, La Penitence, Georgetown.
Nafeeza Balram, whose family owns the store, has officially opened another establishment located next-door of their general store, at 21 Public Road, La Penitence, Georgetown, called “Ang N Mela’s Home Furnishing and Décor Store”.
According to Nafeeza, she recognised that many stores have highly-priced items which a majority of the population cannot simply afford and as such; she is trying to meet the needs of society by providing items at a cheaper cost.
The new store has a range of items which include exquisitely designed and crafted furniture, Christmas decorations, handbags, bed sheets, floral arrangements, carpets, fans, irons, blenders, glass sets and shampoos.
She explained that as soon as the Christmas season is over, she will expand her stock with more items, since she aims to sell a variety of house-hold furniture and equipment as well as beauty products.
