As more cooperate entities come on board

Over 50 of the country’s top race horse have already taken entry for the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf club One-day Horserace Meet which is set to be staged next Sunday, at the club’s track, Alness Corentyne Berbice.
With entries expected to be closed today, over $4M in prize monies will be up for grabs and some eight races carded on the day’s programme one can understand why the entries are filling up at such rapid pace.
In addition to the traditional sponsors, a few more have also come on board with Beharry Group of Companies and Trophy Stall in Bourda Market joining the fray to add to Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited, Telecommunication heavyweight Digicel, Sankar Auto Works and Slingers International Sound Systems that will also be providing the music to make the day a grand show.
The ‘B’ Class Banks DIH Classic, which is the main attraction on the programme, the three-year-old encounter as well as the two-year-old contests which are both for West Indies and Guyana bred horses along with events for F and G class horses, are the top billings on the day’s card.
The feature B class event over 1700 metres will be sponsored by Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited and the winner will race away with a massive $500,000 and the desirable Banks DIH trophy.
Word out of the organisers are that a full complement of horses are expected to enter the starting gate with the likes of Sweet Revenge, Star Tracer, Irish Gel, Tropical Passion and On the Rock with Salt and a few others set to throw down the gauntlet against home-based animals such as Miss Republic, The Message, Delmur Gold, Miss Orientate and Night Crescendo running out of the Crawford and Elcock stables.
The co-feature 3year-old Open event for horses bred and born in Guyana and the West Indies also has an encouraging $350,000 first prize on offer with the distance also being a 1700M affair.
Turfites will be gearing up for another clash between Sabrina’s Princess, Peaceful and Celebration Time.
The F class division which is expected to be as competitive as ever will be an 1100M sprint with the winner set to speed away with $250,000 and a trophy.
Another mainline contest on the day’s programmes is the two year open for Guyana and West Indies Bred horses over 1400M with the winning purse being set at $225,000.
The G Class 1400M gallop as usual will see a top class field in action as the animals’ race for the $200,000 first prize on offer.
The H class race over 1200M event with a first prize of $150,000 is also another top notch race on the day’s card.
Telecommunication Giants Digicel has guaranteed sponsorship for the ‘I3 and lower 1400M battle and has put forward $125,000 and a trophy for the winner.
The final event on the day’s card is for animals in the K and L class division as they compete over 1400M with the pole position takings being $100,000.
Among some of the other horses that are expected to be on show are Vanessa, Pyro Flow, Mamzelle, Face the Music, Graphic, Sea Rocket, Stormy Deal, Try Again, Black Beauty and J.D Junior.
There will be Trophies for the Top Jockeys, Trainers and stable compliments of Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall Bourda Market.
