Pint-sized Saenden David-Longe created a major upset in the Men’s Singles Division when he easily disposed of Rawle Sue-Ho 6-2, 6-0 to advance to the next round as action in this year’s Pegasus Open Tennis Championships continued at the Hotel’s Hardcourts.
Also moving on was No.1 seed Phillip Squires, who defeated Jason Glasgow 6-2, 6-1, despite a valiant at the beginning from the former.
Squires will now meet Sandeep Chand in his next matchup.
In Men’s Doubles action, Sandeep Chand / Andre Lopes eliminated Gavin Lewis / Daniel Lopes 6-3, 6-4. Top Junior doubles players Lewis and Lopes battled hard, but could not overcome the experience of Chand and Lopes, who will now face the top seeds Squires/Lowden in the semi finals.
In 45 & Over Doubles play, D L Mendis / Sakae Yamada beat Maxie Fox/Julian Mc Ewan by W/O.
Top seed Don Singh then beat Rawle Sue- Ho 6-1, 6-3.
In Mixed Doubles action, Jeremy Miller/Shelly D Ramdyhan def. Benedict Sukra /Nicola Ramdyhan 6-1, 6-2.
In Men’s Doubles action, Adam Alves /Gairy Myers def. Jermine Abel / Bishan Dalip 6-1, 6-3.
