The Albion Community Centre ground would come alive tomorrow when arch rivals Albion Community Centre Cricket Club and Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets clash in the finals of the 2010 Tenelec Inc. 50 overs tournament organized by the Berbice Cricket Board.
This game is expected to be of the highest standard with at least eight senior national players involved and a large crowd expected as the old rivals face off for the top spot in the tournament.
Albion at home is always difficult to defeat and is expected to have at least four national players (two with test experience) in their side.
Albion boasts a powerful batting line up that includes Sewnarine Chattergoon, Narsingh Deonarine, Jonathan Foo, Manoj Pooranauth, Ramnarine Chattergoon and Veerasammy Permaul.
Medium pacer Doodnauth Lallbeharry would share the new ball with off spinner Ramnarine Chattergoon and will receive support from left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul, off spinners Orvin Mangru, Harrinarine Chattergoon, Narsingh Deonarine and leg spinner Sewnarine Chattergoon.
West Indies ‘A’ leg spinner Devendra Bishoo would also play if he arrives in time from overseas commitment.
Leading Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets who recently won the Busta Champion of Champions title will be national all-rounder Esuan Crandon whose support with the bat will come from fellow nationals Assad Fudadin, Royston Crandon and Delbert Hicks. Former national Under-19 player Renwick Batson, Jason Sinclair, Eon Hooper, Dominic Rickie and Khemraj Mahadeo are all also capable of scoring heavily to support the national players.
The new ball would be in the capable hands of pacers Esuan Crandon and Renwick Batson while spinners Ravi Narine, Troy Mathieson, Eon Hooper, Royston Crandon, Shawn Perreira and Khemraj Mahadeo are expected to enjoy the spin friendly Albion pitch.
The umpires for the match are Clement Brusche, Zaheer Moakan with Roshan Moakan as the stand by. The Winning team would be rewarded with $100,000, the loser pockets $60,000. Game time is 09:30hrs.
