The General Marine Male & Female Softball Cricket competition, which was launched on September 2 continued last weekend with several matches.
The event is being run by the Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sports and is in its final stages with the quarterfinals set for November 21 and final will be played at the GCC Ground Bourda on December 5.
Wellwoman, Floodlights and Rockaway all recorded victories in latest play while Trophy Stall were eliminated.
In Female and Over-40 Male Results:
Shattaville defeated Success Masters by 5 wickets. Success batted first made 96 all out in 17 overs. Hakim Majeed top scored with 34. Bowling for Shattaville, Randolph Perreira took 3 for 20 and Raghunandan Narine took 3 wickets for 2 runs. Shattaville in reply made 99 for 6 off 17 overs. Linden McCoy made 46. Balroop Muller took 3 for 22 bowling for Success.
Floodlights defeated Savage by 101 runs. Floodlights batted first made 223 for 10 off their allotted 25 overs. Richard Persaud 63, Ricky Deonarain 42, Tulsie Sahadeo and Imtiaz Mohammed made 36 each. Bowling for Savage, Ramjit Singh took 3 for 42. Savage in reply made 122 all out off 19 overs. Kennard Luke 33. Bowling for Floodlights, Rahaman Khan took 3 for 9, Ramchand Ragbeer and Rabindra Singh took 2 wickets each.
Mahaica Masters defeated Defenders by 4 wickets. Defenders batted first made 119 all out off 23 overs. Marcus Nagappa 26. Bowling for Mahaica Masters, Bagwat Rampersaud took 4 for 15 and Rohan Boojraj 3 for 15. Mahaica Masters in reply made 124 for 6 off 24.3 overs. Trevor Whitney top scored with 55, Sheik Mohammed 20.
On Sunday, Industry Super Kings defeated Cummings Lodge Veterans by 8 wickets. Cummings Lodge Veterans batted first made 91 all out in 22 overs. Rupert Basdeo took 4 for 20 bowling for Industry. Industry Super Kings in reply made 96 for 2 off 6.5 overs. Hardat Singh top scored with 43 not out and Maxim Mangra 27 not out.
Defenders defeated Shattaville by 9 runs. Defenders batted first made 117 for 8 off 25 overs. Kadesh Persaud 26 and Shafeek Mohammed 24. Bowling for Shattaville, Raghunandan Narine took 3 for 11 and Lionel Persaud 2 for 10. Shattaville in reply made 108 all out off 24.3 overs. Linden McCoy and Paul Narine scored 22 each. Shafeek Mohammed took 3 for 6 and Azeez Mohammed 3 for 13 bowling for Defenders.
Enterprise defeated Success by 4 wickets. Success batted first made 88 all out off 13 overs. Vishwanauth Gobin and Saieed Khan both took 4 for 26. Enterprise in reply made 90 for 7 off 22 overs. Khalie Mohammed 26 and Jahowalall Jitlall 23. Bowling for Success Benedict Felix took 3 for 19.
Trophy Stall Angels defeated Ariel Divas by 17 runs. Trophy Stall Angels batted first made 65 all out off 9.5 overs. June Ogle Thomas top scored with 19. Bowling for Arial Divas, Navita John took 3 for 10. Ariel Divas in reply made 48 all out off 8 overs. Tanisha Isahack took 5 for 17 bowling for Trophy Stall Angels.
4R Lioness defeated Crabwood Creek United Females by 15 runs. 4R Lioness batted first made 100 for 4 off their 10 overs. Tracy Glasgow top Scored with 56 and Gangadai Singh 16 not out. Teresa Leonard took 2 for 14 bowling for Crabwood Creek. Crabwood Creek in reply made 85 for 5 off 10 overs. Teresa Leonard made 49.
Corriverton Queens defeated 4R Lioness by 6 wickets. 4R Lioness batted first made 93 for 4 off 10 overs. Latoya Williams 26, Tracy Glasgow 22 and Shaneeza Williams 18. Steffi Williams took 2 for 15 bowling for Corriverton Queens. Corriverton Queens in reply made 94 for 4 off 9.3 overs. Katina Mentore top scored with 63 and Christine Matheson 19.
Wellwoman defeated both Crabwood Creek United Females and Corriverton Queens.
15/15 Male Open results:
Trophy Stall B defeated Farm by 6 wickets. Farm made 93 for 8 off 15 overs. John Singh 32, Abdool Sadeek 23. Nigel Ramdial 2 for 12 and Kevin Oxford 2 for 13. Trophy Stall B made 99 for 4 off 11 overs. Anand Rooplall 32. John Singh took 2 for 6.
Surprise XI defeated Omesh XI by 80 runs. Surprise XI made 132 for 6 off 15 overs. Steve Boodram 42, Chris Pataddin 28, Troy Gonsalves 22. Vicky Kissoon took 3 for 16. Omesh XI made 52 all out off 11.2 overs.
Rockaway defeated Trophy Stall by 4 wickets. Trophy Stall made 140 for 7 off 15 overs. Jagesh Deosarran 48, Fazal Rafeek 21. Kumar Bishundyal and Danny Gangadin took 2 wickets each. Rockaway made 142 for 6 off 13 overs. Krishan Deosarran 72 not out. Randy Ketwaroo and Jerry Singh took 2 wickets each.
Cena XI defeated Flashers by 4 wickets. Flashers made 96 all out off 14.1 overs. Mark Williams 25. Ryan Vickram 3 for 15. Cena XI made 100 for 6 off 11 overs. Rohan Ramchandra 19. Terrence Rambarran and Chris Narine took 2 wickets each.
Uprising defeated Enmore by 5 wickets. Enmore 119 for 9 off 15 overs. Balwant Singh took 4 24 and Mike Persaud 4 for 18. Uprising made 121 for 5 off 14.2 overs. Andy Persaud 39, Surat Singh 36 and Sunil Ramjeet 25.
El Commandante advanced to the next round due to a no-show by Hard Steppers XI.
The competition continues this Sunday at various venues.
Meanwhile, Floodlights A & B and Trophy Stall Angels will be going to Mahaicony Creek to play in fundraising games for the Gordon Table Mandir at Heido Park.
