The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has announced its Rest Team to compete in the senior 4-day cricket tournament, previously the Inter-County competition, which featured the three county teams, but has now again been extended to four teams.
The Rest Team was selected from players not picked for the County teams and will face Berbice in the competition’s opening game from 09:30hrs tomorrow at Blairmont in West Berbice.
Ryan Ramdass is the only player with Test experience in the Rest side which comprises players from Demerara and Berbice and include West Indies ‘A’ team T20 player Jonathon Foo.
Dion Ferrier, Shemroy Barrington, Gajanand Singh and Wicketkeeper Delbert Hicks are the other players in the Rest team with senior National experience.
The other first round match will be played from Thursday November 11 to Sunday November 14 and will see Essequibo hosting the Ramnaresh Sarwan-led Demerara team at the Anna Regina Community Centre ground on the Essequibo Coast.
A release from the GCB did not identify a captain or deputy, but the full Rest team is Ryan Ramdass, Moshin Perkhan, Shemroy Barrington, Gajanand Singh, Wasim Haslim, Jonathan Foo, Seon Hetimyer, Delbert Hicks, Dion Ferrier, Krishundat Ramoo, Kellon Carmichael, Keyron Fraser, Seon Daniels, Raj Nanan and Riad Ally.
