Masters athlete, Llewellyn Gardner made it three in a row on Sunday when he won the Volunteer Youth Corps Inc. 10km Road Race that was held under the theme “Protect a Child, Protect a Nation” at the National Park Entrance.
Gardner reportedly won the event in 40:00. Details of the other top finishers were sketchy but the victory was the third successive win for Gardner, who had also won Ainlim and South American Masters’ 10km Road Races.
He said that he was preparing to defend his title in the Suriname Marathon that will be held on the last weekend on this month. Gardner expressed elation over the three wins while appealing to the corporate community for sponsorship to go Suriname.
