New Amsterdam will be the first to experience the hype and skill of the AND 1 Street-ball Legends after the ten-member celebrity crew arrives in Guyana for a seven-day tour as part of the Eight Annual All-Star Basketball Weekend.
Wildfire Entertainment pulled all stops when they booked the stars of the AND 1 Mix-tape to perform in Guyana. For the first time in the history of the All-Star Weekend, there will be three days of intense basketball action and outreach programmes.
Headlining the celebrities expected to be in Guyana are ‘The Bone Collector’, ‘The Professor’ and ‘The Air Up There’.
The AND 1 team will be in New Amsterdam today for their first outreach programme that includes a clinic for children and a 20-minute performance. They will head to Linden tomorrow before concluding their outreach itinerary in Georgetown Thursday.
The All-Star Weekend officially starts Friday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with Georgetown vs Linden senior All-Star game, the junior dunk-out and three-point shootout, crowd events and AND 1 20-minute performance.
The Weekend continues on Saturday with the junior All-Star game, senior dunk-out and three-point shootout and an AND 1 performance. The Guyana All-Stars will play the AND 1 team on the final night of the Weekend, Sunday in a mega showdown.
