NEW AMSTERDAM, BERBICE – Last week members of the New Amsterdam Rotary Club handed over a quantity of medical supplies to the New Amsterdam Hospital. The Club’s President, Rohan Marray explained that the items came with the best wishes of the United States Navy and its Continuing Promising 2010.
Infusion sets, absorbent pads, tubings, Ambu bags, neck collars along with sleeved vests with zippers and buckles were a part of the $700,000 package. Mr. Marray indicated that another part of the shipment would be handed over to health centres across Region Six shortly.
On behalf of the Berbice Regional Health Authority and the New Amsterdam Hospital, Matron Annetta Luyken made the thank you speech. She stressed that the items are much needed and would be used in their efforts to improve health care delivery in Berbice.
