– Sukra/Ramdyhan win
New Champions were crowned in the Over 55 Doubles as Bobby Khan and Omar Persaud teamed up to outplay perennial champs Steve Surujbally and Maxie Fox with relative ease.
Khan and Persaud raced away with the first set 6-0, out-rallying their opponents and continued their dominance in the second set, leading 4-2, before Surujbally and Fox made a battle of it and took the set 6-4.
The third set followed a similar trend, but this time it was Khan and Persaud who rallied from being down 2-4 to clinch the set and title 6-4 to become the new champions. Khan commenting after his win was ecstatic about their victory and credited their superior fitness and right-left combination for the win.
Meanwhile, in earlier matches there were no major upsets as all the top seeds progressed.
