Dear Editor,
I refer to a letter from one Navindra Persaud, in response to my letter “Liberal Democracy is in the DNA of the AFC”.
Let me start out by saying I respect his criticism even though most of it is furthest from the truth. However, I will not hold that against him and will fight to my last drop of blood for him to have this ability to write, so write on brother.
The AFC Special Conference is over and at this time, it’s important that we have honest and civil debate, nationally on the way forward.
Why? It is clear that no one party has a monopoly on wisdom in Guyana and for us to rebuild Guyana; we must work with and engage each other constructively, regardless of race, class, religion or gender.
Yes we will have difference of opinion, but none of us; neither Navindra nor I are responsible and are accountable for the mess in Guyana.
Only the Jagdeo cabal has that responsibility and honour. So to Navindra Persaud, let us focus on the people’s issues and how we can solve this Jagdeo mess.
Yes Navindra, I have a pre-determined agenda. My predetermined agenda is getting the AFC elected to Government and I have no apologies to make for that.
The AFC and Prakash Ramjattan are the best political force in Guyana to stimulate the private sector in creating the new jobs.
The AFC is the best political force to lead in the arrest of the PPP crime wave; the AFC is the best political force to slay the monster unleash by the PPP called corruption; and they are the best political force to create the economic conditions to help the working people to stretch their paycheck further.
However, on top of all of that the AFC is the best political force that can unleash the opportunities for the young so that they can create the wealth for their children and grandchildren the old fashion way; through hard work.
My agenda is the empowerment of the working people regardless of race or gender and thus how does that make me a racist.
The most secure manner of advancing the empowerment of the working people is by getting the Jagdeo cabal “out the place”. To beat the racism in the PPP, the AFC must put up an Indo-Guyanese Presidential Candidate who knows inside the belly of the PPP.
Further, the PPP cannot pin on Ramjattan their trademark racism – a vote for the AFC is a vote for the PNCR. Ramjattan is not the PNCR. Ramjattan is the most qualified for this task at hand.
But Ramjattan is more than this, he is honest, he has the political experience and talent to lead the process in re-engaging the people to rebuild Guyana. At the end of the day winning elections in Guyana is a numbers game and the AFC cannot without former PPP and PNCR supporters.
As I said before, we have had our say and we must work together and engage each other. I am a real person who can be contacted at [email protected]. If Navindra is real; he knows what he can do, so that we can discuss and build alliances to rid Guyana of the corrupt Jagdeo cabal.
My enemy is not Navindra or Aubrey Norton or Moses Nagamotoo. My enemy is corruption in a Jagdeo regime. My enemy is the un-arrested crime wave under a Jagdeo regime.
My enemy is a continued lack of adequate opportunities for the working people under a Jagdeo regime. My enemy is the inadequate number of jobs being created for the people under the Jagdeo regime.
It is my opinion that Ramjattan, Holder and Trotman can and will address these issues frontally and honestly, when they get into Government. Peace Navindra.
