Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited, Telecommunication heavyweight Digicel, Sankar Auto works and one of Guyana Leading sound Systems Slingers International have already indicated their commitment to be a part of the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club (RCMTC) one day horse race meet which is slated for Sunday November 21 at the clubs track, Alness Corentyne Berbice.
A number of other sponsors are expected to come on board shortly in what is expected to be an action pack day of racing.
Eight races are listed to be contested during the day which is the final one organized by the club for the year with prizes totaling over $3.5M in cash and trophies, up for grabs. So far a number of top horses in the land have already taken entry, which is filling up at a rapid pace.
Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited once again takes charge of the feature B class event and has doled out close to $900,000 for the main contest. The winner will run away with a whopping $500,000 and the Coveted Banks DIH trophy, while second to fourth places will receive $225,000, $101,000 and $45,000 respectively.
The other main event the 3yrs old open for horses bred and born in Guyana and the West Indies also has an encouraging $350,000 first prize on offer also over 1700M. The F class which is expected to be as competitive this time will be an 1100M sprint and will see the competitors battling for a first prize of $250,000.
The two year open for Guyana and West Indies Bred horses over 1400M has a winning stake of $225,000.
The G Class 1400M gallop as usual will see a top class field in action as the race for the $200,000 first prize on offer.
The H class 1200M event with has a first prize of $150,000 and is also another top notch race on the day’s card.
The ‘I3 and lower 1400M battle has been sponsored by Telecommunication Giants Digicel with cash and trophy. The winner’s money is set at $125,000.
While the K and L class match up over 1400M with the pole position takings being $100,000.
There will be Trophies for the Top Jockeys, Trainers and stable. Music will be supplied by Slingers International Sounds system. Race time is 13:00 hrs.
