– Quintero retains yellow jersey
Antonio Quintero maintained his stranglehold on the yellow jersey at the end of the fourth stage of this year’s Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport / Ministry of Health ‘Ride for Life’ Cycle 4 Road Race which continued yesterday in Essequibo.
Yesterday’s stage which saw the riders start at Supenaam then proceed to Charity and return to Suddie was won by Alonzo Greaves, who finished in a time of 2hours 36 minutes 33 seconds.
He was followed home by a bunch of riders that included Yosvany Falcon, Geron Williams, Jose Frank Rodriguez, Enzo Matthews and Paul De Nobrega, who were all given similar times.
The final stage is set for today from Kara Kara on the Linden / Soesdyke Highway and end on Homestretch Avenue.
The race is set up to produce a fascinating finish with a mere three seconds separating the top two riders, while all the others in the top ten are in with a chance.
