Two golf tournaments are on for this weekend at the Lusignan Golf Club with action set for today and tomorrow.
Today, there will be the R. Bassoo and Sons Construction Company sponsored Medal Play tournament starting at 12:30 hours with the usual shotgun start.
Tomorrow, the Caddies will compete in a Junior and Senior tournament sponsored by the European Union starting at 07:00 hours.
Meanwhile, the players line up for today’s competition include Avinda Kishore, Avinash Persaud, Mike Mangal, Imran Khan, William Walker, Mohanlall and Deoram Dinanauth, Ian Gouveia, Rita Heikens, Christine Suhkram, Joaan Deo, Bhowlaram Deo, Maurice Solomon, Jerome Khan, Brian Hackett, Albert Russell, Francois Montour, Mark Lashley, Chatterpaul Deo, Andre Cummings, Dr. Ram Singh, Alfred Mentore, Muntaz Hanif, Monaff Arjune, Colin Ming, Hilbert Shields, Carlos Adams, Esau Shamshudin and Gavin Todd.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers. There will also be a prize for nearest to the pin.
Only registered caddies will be allowed to compete in tomorrow’s tournament, which will feature the juniors, compete in a nine-hole playoff while the seniors will battle over 18 holes.
The top three players in each category will receive prizes.
The tournament will be supervised by senior players Imran Khan and Mike Mangal, while European Union Ambassador Geerts Heikens, a devoted golfer was invited to present the prizes to the outstanding players.
