Terrence Woolford, 37, of Tucber Park, New Amsterdam, who was caught with 150 grams of cannabis sativa on October 31, last, was remanded to prison by Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo when he appeared before her at the New Amsterdam Magistrate Court.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Prosecutor Corporal Roberto Figueira told the court that on the day in question the police acting on information swooped down on the Naiabingi premises at the back of Tucber Park and saw Woolford hiding something under some branches. The police moved in and retrieved a transparent plastic bag in which was concealed leaves, seeds and stems of what appeared to be the marijuana plant.
He was arrested and taken to the Central Police station where the item was weighted in his presence and certified as 150Grams of the Cannabis.
He will have to return to court on January 24, next.
