Dear Editor,
In response to the article, “Is this a case of a person being the law unto himself”
I personally know that “man”, because he happens to be my father, who is a very dedicated rice farmer and is known for his hard work around Hague and the rest of West Demerara Coast.
Parbattie Jawahir clearly has no clue what she is talking about or is she so afraid that the reputation of the school will be in jeopardy.
Don’t attack a seventy-one-year-old man who is trying to protect what is his. Your students were caught stealing. Let’s get real here. Maybe it was poor judgement on the boys’ part or maybe the deputy principal fail to instruct the boys properly.
This teacher is fighting someone else’s battle here. She should put her energy into educating the students about “stealing” and “trespassing”.
It would have been a lot easier if someone had given the boys money to go buy some coconuts instead of sending them out to steal. The boys should be held accountable for their actions.
Arrested, forcible imprisonment, extortion are all very strong words to use, for someone who was not even there. How smart are you?
If my Dad had taken them to the Police Station, you would have been on bended knees, trying to keep your students and school’s name out of the news media. I would also like to say, I have great respect and regards for they Principal of that school.
So Parbattie Jawahir, don’t attack my family because you know nothing about them. I am sure you would not want me to “open a can of worms”. It would not be a pretty picture.
Pam Bacchus
