Central produced an impressive showing to dethrone defending champions Deep South when the Rupununi (Region 9) Inter-District Schools athletics championships were held last week at the Mocha Mocha ground by 33 points.
Central stormed to 333 points after the final tally, to beat South Central into second place with 316, Deep South third with 300 and North Rupununi in the cellar on 200 points.
Keen competition was the order of the day.

And Under-16 girl Dianne Mandukin of Central powers ahead of the field to win their 100m, beating Pauline Ambrose (left) of South Central and Rachel Bellamy (2nd left) of Deep South.
