Action in the Digicel sponsored Guyana Table Tennis Association, National Mini Cadet, Cadet and Junior Teams Table Tennis Tournament has been fixed for November 5 to 7 at the National Gymnasium Mandela Avenue.
In a release from the GTTA, the association indicated that they and the National Sports Commission are continuing their effort to promote table tennis countrywide and will be coordinating a team’s table tennis tournament involving schools during the same period.
The aim of the event is to Foster Camaraderie among students, Promotion/Creation of healthy lifestyle through sport (Table Tennis), Opportunity for individuals to participate in recreational activities and Promoting the basic objectives of the GTTA/NSC by having more players actively participate in table tennis activities both recreational and competitively.
The GTTA/NSC will coordinate tournament fixtures and will provide umpires, tables, and balls among other resources to ensure the smooth running of the tournament.
We sincerely feel that this tournament can be successful in achieving its objectives and would like to therefore meet with representatives of schools on Wednesday November 3 at 17:00 hours at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
The Tournament will be run on a round robin basis, with the top four teams in each division contesting the semi-finals. Teams of four in the U-13 to U-18 categories featuring one girl and three boys will compete. An entry fee of $1,000 would be charged for each team.
Trophies and medals will be presented to the outstanding performers.

Play starts at 10:00am on Friday November 5, 9:00am on Saturday November 6 and 10:00am on Sunday November 7.
