Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets and arch rivals Young Warriors Cricket Club would clash tomorrow at the Area “H” ground in the finals of the 2010 Busta Champion of Champions tournament. The tournament, the seventh of its kind is organised by the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club and sponsored by the Guyana Beverage Company under its Busta brand.
Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets would be led by national all rounder Esuan Crandon who would spearhead the host’s effort with both ball and bat. National middle order batsman Royston Crandon would support his brother in the batting department with Delbert Hicks, Renwick Batson, Jason Sinclair, Eon Hooper and Dominic Rickie. Crandon and Renwick Batson would share the new ball. The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club bowling attack is however spin based with off spinners Royston Crandon, Lloydel Lewis, Eon Hooper and Troy Mathieson along with leg spinners Ravi Narine and Shawn Perreira.
Young Warriors would be led by veteran all rounder Anil Beharry. Their batting would be based around national players Richard Ramdeen and Gajanand Singh. They would be supported by Maxie De Jonge, Farouk Hussain, Seon Hetmyer, Balram Samaroo, Ishwar Singh and promising Under-13 player Shimron Hetmyer. Berbice “A” Team left arm pacer Devendra Ramoutar and Amir Rahaman would open the bowling with spinners Gajanand Singh, Balram Samaroo, Farouk Hussain, Anil Beharry, Kevin Ramdeen and Daryl Narine offering support.
The winning team would receive $80,000 and the Busta Trophy, the runner up $40,000 while the Man of the Finals would receive $5,000 and a trophy.
Managing Director of the Guyana Beverage Company Robert Selman and Marketing Manager Shamiza Yadram would meet both teams before the match which starts at 09.30 hours. Umpires would be Dhieranidranauth Somwaru, Rafik Latiff and Clement Brusch.
