Dear Sir,
Sattaur’s (Chronicle of 26/10/2010) tirade against Kaieteur News for the “blackmail report” is symptomatic of the child being caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Sattaur should be reminded, as he was by Kaieteur News’s article, that the public has not forgotten about the “cigarette container” matter.
He should know further, that about 10 very senior officers of Customs are under investigations. Even further, ALL of these officers are involved.
There have been some dismissals in this matter. Has Sattaur seen it fit to let the public know? Mr. Sattaur, please understand that GRA under your watch has covered up enough. I sometimes wonder how you sleep with your conscience, if you have one.
I urge Kaieteur News to continue to “skin the card” of those culpable. Let the likes of Sattaur who wish to cover up know that there is at least one watchdog working to keep the public informed.
T. Jabour
