Guyanese experiencing problems in Barbados will not have to wait much longer for a source of representation, as this country is gearing to appoint a new Consul.
This was confirmed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett who, during a recent press briefing, said that several persons have indicated their willingness to take up the position.
The Minister revealed that the shortlist will soon be completed, and that within another two or three weeks an individual will be appointed.
This appointee is to fill the void left by the death of Honorary Consul Norman Faria, last May.
Faria served Guyanese interests in Barbados for more than 16 years.
