Son missing…mother fears worst

Seven years after losing one son to bullets, Joan De Abreu now fears that something has happened to her eldest son, Quincy De Abreu.
In 2001 the woman’s son, Collis De Abreu was shot and killed in front of a popular Alberttown night spot.
The very distraught woman yesterday told Kaieteur News that she last heard from her son Quincy on Saturday, when she called him.
She explained that on Saturday morning around 03:30hrs someone called his wife Patricia, telling her something had happened to her husband.
“They called his wife saying something wrong with him…and let her come down immediately to karaoke spot”.
She said the wife went to the spot, but only to find that it was closed. The mother further told this publication that she started calling her husband’s friends to see if they knew his whereabouts.

Missing Quincy De Abreu

One friend told the woman that Quincy was with him earlier but left for home. His wife then called the owner of the night spot, who said that Quincy had left with the same friend that she called.
Relatives yesterday continuously called De Abreu’s cell phone, but it’s going straight to voicemail.
Relatives are asking persons to contact the nearest police station or on telephone numbers 671- 2676 or 231- 0815, if they have any information.
