Dennis Pendenit and Winston Scotland are seeking justice from an accident that resulted in them being hospitalized at the Georgetown Public Hospital Cooperation (GPHC).
The men, who work in the interior, both sustained injuries to their right leg.
According to Winston Scotland, the two were riding a motorcycle about 6:00am last Wednesday and while on the turn into the “Backdam” at a location called French Man at Mabura they were hit by a “Cruiser” that was coming out of the Backdam.
Scotland, the injured father of one, said, “We were on our side.” They both got hit on their right side.
The two told this publication that the man who “caused the accident” is well known in the interior as “Wildy” because he is generally a “wild driver”.
The men alleged that the dredge owner who “hit we down” dropped them to the Mackenzie Hospital and left them there.
“By time me family hear bout the accident he must de already in the bush” said Scotland. The men alleged that they never saw or heard from “Wildy” again.
Scotland, 38, is said to be the sole breadwinner of his family.
Forty-year-old Dennis Pendenit, whose right leg is broken in two places, can hardly remember anything much from the incident. However they both are eager to acquire some form of justice.
The men who were on Monday released from the hospital said that two officers came and take their names; however failed to take a statement.
