Samuel Kingston blasted record 213 against a hapless Marshon SC attack to lead Regal XI to record 311-2 and their third victory in as many matches in the Regal Stationery and Computer Centre over-35 male 20/20 and female 10/10 softball cricket tournament organised by the Guyana Softball League and the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport.

Regal over 35 demolish Marshon SC by 8 wkts. Regal XI won the toss and elected to bat and reached 45 without loss after five overs, but with the introduction of first change bowler Naitram Persaud they lost their first wicket but Samuel Kingston and Raymond Harper took a liking to their bowling and ensured that runs flowed.
Kingston peppering the boundaries at will in his record score of 213 which included 28 x 6 before he went driving to the deep mid wicket fielder. Harper who was content in feeding Kingston was left not out on 51 at the conclusion of the Regal innings which read a mammoth 311-2 off their 20 overs. Marshon SC struggled, losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually folded for 125 in 12.1 overs. Rasi Outar hit a quick fire 36 and Naitram Persaud contributed 23. Regal XI skipper Anil Hardyal who took 3-30 from his 3 overs to lead the bowling.
Marshon SC in their second match of the day continued in the losing streak as they lost to Backstreet Warriors by 67 runs. Backstreet Warriors won the toss and batted racking up 197-5 in 20 overs with another centurion Ramnarace Bissessar clobbering 109 from 95 balls and he was supported by Mustaq Mohamed with 30. Naitram Persaud with 2-20 from 4 overs was the pick of the bowlers.
Marshon SC in their innings fared a little better by 131 all out in 17 overs with their top batsman being Rasi Outar with an even 50, Ram Rajkumar supporting with 20. Hansraj Gobin with 3-20 and Ramnarace Bissessar grabbed 3-25 from 4 overs to put up a good all round performance to lead his team to victory.
In the Female category: at Leguan:
Young Heart SC made light work of Happy Heart Youth Group by 7 wkts:
Happy Heart Youth Group batted first and scored 62-7 in 10 overs and Young Heart SC replied with 65-3 in 6 overs;
Island Girls defeated Wakenaam All Stars by 9 wkts: All Stars batted first and scored 82 all out in 9.5 overs and Island Girls replied with 83-1 in 9 overs with Nikita Trotz scoring 47.
Essequibo Zone:
Capoey defeated Tapakuma XI by 8 wkts. Capoey in their second match remained unbeaten by defeating Lima Sands by 7 wkts. Tapakuma XI in their second match redeemed themselves by defeating Cottonfield by 2 wkts.
Jungle Defenders cruised past Teneeze Farm by 9 wkts. Teneeze Farm took first strike and made 79-4 in 10 overs (Teresa Turnhill 39) Defenders replied with 80-1 in 7.1 overs (Megan Alphonso 31 not out).
Charity Emeralds defeated Charity Young Warriors by 24 runs. Charity Emeralds 101 – 7 in 10 overs ( Latifa Garraway 43; Shenna Singh 5-15 from 2 overs) in reply Charity Young Warriors were limited to 77-1 in 10 overs (Latifa Benn 24).
Wakapoi defeated Siriki Silks by 7 runs. Wakapoi batted first and scored 95-3 in 10 overs (Jenny Daniels 39 not out; Samantha Persaud 2-10 from 2 overs) In reply Siriki Silks were limited to 88-3 in 10 overs ( Surujanie Ramdeen 43; Daniela Singh 2-10 from 2 overs).
Wakapoi in their second match defeated Jungle Defenders by 9 wkts. Defenders batted first and scored 67-1 in 10 overs (Megan Alphonso 38 not out) Wakapoi replied with 69-1 in 7.5 overs (Alana Phillips 35 not out; Valerie Williams 1-2 from 2 overs).
West Coast zone:
Tuschen girls Club defeated Monar Institute by 9 wkts. Monar Institute batted first and scored 46 all out in 8.5 overs (Onisa Phulander 17). In reply Tuschen blasted 47-1 in 3.3 overs (Mayawattie Cervermai 26 not out).
