The Malteenoes Sport Club will be hosting another Power 16 Table Tennis Tournament tomorrow. The first one was held on October 1 and is based on the concept of the “Dirty Dozen” tournament held at a popular table tennis club in New York City.
The idea is for the first 16 players who get to the club at the appointed time to participate in the winner take all tournament.
The first prize will again range from $10,000 to $20,000 depending on the sponsor. Winners will have their pictures placed on a “Winners wall” in the club. Players who win on three consecutive Fridays will be eligible for a special prize.
It is intended to be fun and is for table tennis players and enthusiasts who want to test their mettle and earn bragging rights. The cost to participate will be $1,000. Spectators will be asked to pay a $200 donation to the club to offset administrative expenses.
All members of the table tennis fraternity are invited to participate.
