Relentless work by the police on the West Coast of Demerara has led to the capture of yet another bandit early yesterday morning.
This time the bandit is a suspect in the robbery committed on the Sue Chinese Restaurant at Parika on Monday.
This is the fourth armed robbery suspect captured by police in the district in less than a week.
A senior police official on the West Coast of Demerara told this newspaper that three men one of whom was armed with a gun invaded the restaurant and robbed the proprietor of close to a million dollars in cash and other valuables.
Police acting on information that the captured suspect was seen fleeing the scene shortly after the robbery, swopped down in an early morning raid yesterday and detained him.
He is reportedly cooperating with investigators who are expected to reign in his two accomplices soon.
