Six more bulletins issued
Several hours after wanted bulletins were issued for ten persons, including some popular local businessmen, five of the persons turned themselves in. This newspaper was told that Lloyd Roberts was taken to the police by attorney at law Glenn Hanoman. Bramanand Nandalall Rambriche and Dennis Edwards were escorted by Nigel Hughes; Ricardo Rodrigues, by Peter Hugh. Clayton Hutson was reportedly arrested for a traffic offence.
According to reports, Hutson was making his way to Georgetown to meet with his lawyer, Vic Puran. On his way, he was detained by a rank for a traffic offence at Madewini and was later handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department.
Up to press time yesterday the other men, John De Santos, Mark De Abreu, Sean Belfield, Raymond Fraser and David Charran were still not located.
Soon after, the police also issued wanted bulletins for Paul Daby, Snr. called ‘Coolie Paul’, Paul Daby Jnr. called ‘Randell, Peter Daby and Salim Juman Azeez, Royston Penniston, called Joe, and Shervington Lovell, called ‘Big Head’.
According to the police, the latest addition to the list are men wanted for questioning into various matters. Meanwhile Nigel Hughes who is representing Bramanand Nandalall Rambriche, said that he views this recent action by the Guyana Police Force as a plot
from an old movie, Casablanca.
“The police simply bring in the usual suspects.”
According to Hughes, his client, who is a popular businessman, has since indicated to him that no search was conducted at any of his business places by the police. He added that the police never made any effort to locate either of his clients prior to issuing the wanted bulletins.
“The police never contacted Mr. Nandalall’s office; they never searched his home. I think this is an attempt to embarrass my clients,” Hughes said.
According to Hughes his clients were made aware of the wanted bulletins from the local online news website, Demerara Waves.
“We saw the bulletins on the web site and I immediately contacted the police who confirmed what we saw.”
