Yesterday at approximately 9:30am a Cessna 208 Caravan operated by Air Services Limited run off the runway; reportedly after encountering a braking problem.
This newspaper understands that the 12-seater had just returned from Port Kaituma.
According to officials, the pilot made his landing and was applying the brakes when the mishap occurred. No one was injured and the plane was not damaged. According to information reaching this publication, the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority is investigating the catastrophe.
Investigators are said to be awaiting a pilot’s report and a probe has been launched into the matter.
