The senior ‘Golden Jaguars’ commenced encampment ahead of the Digicel Caribbean Cup 2010 last evening.
Head Coach Wayne Dover disclosed that training will be intense and they have invited a number of players as they seek to take the best available squad to Suriname for battle against the home team, St. Lucia and the Netherlands Antilles from October 13.
The following players have been invited; Ronson Williams, Derick Carter, Howard Lowe, Sherman David, Abassi McPherson, Chris Camacho, Reshan Sandiford, Denver Dennis, Kester Jacobs, Philbert Moffatt, Dwayne Jacobs, Earren Gilkes, Pierre Joseph, Dwayne Ali, Glenorvan Edmonds, Dwight Peters, Brion Baker, Anthony Abrams, Peter Parks, Devon Millington, Adrian Adams and Travis Waterton.
The overseas players who are expected to return to the squad are John Rodrigues, Chris Bourne, Walter Moore, Shawn Beveney and Jake Newton.
Dover also disclosed they are exploring the possibility of inviting Richard Reynolds, Kayode McKinnon and Kelvin Smith, players who have donned national colours before and now playing their trade in Trinidad and Tobago.
Sessions will be held twice daily at the Carifesta Sports Complex Ground. The squad will be trimmed to 18 on October 10 and Guyana is expected to travel to Suriname on October 11 ahead of the DCC.
The other members of the coaching staff are Collie Hercules (Assistant Coach), Gavin Brown (Goalkeeper Coach), Rawle Adams (Manager).
