Dear Editor,
I refer to the letter penned by Tony Jones and carried in the letter columns of Kaieteur News (September 29 instant) and wish to give a simple and certain response to his vacuous inquiry, to wit, “Are we witnessing the PNCR demise?”
My simple, emphatic and unequivocal answer is a resounding, absolutely not!
Notwithstanding the distortions, half truths, blatant lies, innuendos, the insidious advocacy of threats of extortion of family members in exchange for their votes, the demonstrated ignorance of the PNCR’s constitution, the incoherent and illogical arguments posed as effective strategies to remove the PPP’s dictatorship, etc. and not excluding the total arrogance of the so called committed PNCR supporters, and others who contemptuously dismiss the decision of the 2009 PNCR Congress on that particular leadership question, I say with as much certainty as commonsense permits, that the PNCR shall prevail…beyond 2011, whether we win government in 2011, or not; whether or not the Guyanese people are able to overcome and remove the despicable narco- dictatorship and ethnocracy; whether or not our political fortunes rise or fall, and those who presume their elevation on its successes suffer as a consequence, the PNCR shall survive and prevail.
It has no other option. And it shall survive. Not because of its leadership, but because of its membership! Personalities shall come and go, but the principles on which it has been founded, the values for which its stands, the purpose which brought it into existence shall remain immutable, and eternal, as the inalienable human rights we each possess!
What I am convinced, however, is that pseudo organisation GTPROGRESSIVE, which Tony Jones pretends to head who has certainly died at child’s birth, since the ex PPP elements now posing as AFC activists have been allowed to hijack it from under his nose and dictates its agenda in both the US and in Canada.
It serves his best interest if he pays more attention to his own comforts, and the business of his own house than to be seen as the willing tool of others with his empty speculations.
