Motorcyclist still to show signs of improvement

Patrick Daniels, 40, the motorcyclist who was struck down on Wednesday afternoon on Norton Street, is yet to show signs of improvements, relatives said Thursday.
A close relative of the man told this publication yesterday that Daniels injuries are so severe that doctors are threatening to amputate his leg.
“The only thing keeping his leg is the flesh…so they are considering taking off the leg,” explained the relative.
Kaieteur News was also told that Daniels, a former footballer, is also suffering from severe head and chest pains.
His entire face is swollen, and this has caused some concern for doctors.
Meanwhile police sources on Thursday said that the driver has been taken into custody.
According to the source, the driver turned himself into the police some time Thursday. The police have since revisited the accident, and the driver is now claiming that he never saw Daniels.
However eyewitnesses to the accident told this publication that the truck driver was indeed speeding when the vehicle collided with Daniels.
Daniels was thrown into the air after the impact while his motorcycle ended up underneath the truck.
The driver, according to one eyewitness, quickly bolted from the scene. “He run away from the scene…He throw de truck keys at another boy who was in the vehicle,” said the eyewitness.
