Police yesterday went to a mechanic shop at Enmore, East Coast Demerara and found a minibus believed to have been involved in the accident that killed Buxtonian, Biko Edwards..
This newspaper was told that the minibus was found but the driver was not there. But information then led rank to a house at Lusignan where they arrested the man who was said to be the driver of the minibus at the time of the accident.
He reportedly told investigators that he fled the scene because he was scared, given the area where the accident occurred.
The man reportedly told investigators that he had a sick relative whom he was going to see at the hospital and that too added to his frustration.
The minibus has since been seized by the police and up to press time yesterday the man was in police custody assisting with investigations.
On Thursday last 30-year-old Biko Edwards was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was struck down by a minibus on the Buxton Railway Embankment in the vicinity of Brusche Dam.
Reports are that the man who hails from Vigilance was heading home when he was struck from behind.
